China Three Gorges to buy into EDP US wind portfolio

EDP Renewables North America will sell a 21.35% stake in 25 US wind projects to China Three Gorges as part of Three Gorges' Eu2.69 billion ($3.5 billion) purchase of a 21.35% of EDP. Under the agreement, which signed in December 2011, the buyer will spend Eu2 billion on operational and ready-to-build projects owned by the seller around the world. The US acquisitions are subject to US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval.
